TIMBER STRUCTURES

Wood that carries, shelters and is walked on every day.

Beams, floors, floorboards, pergolas, decks, stairs and railings for structure, shade and circulation.

LOMA BONITA

WHAT WE MAKE / ARCHITECTURAL WOOD

The wood that holds the space.

Timber structures resolve load, shade and circulation: exposed beams, floors walked on for decades, pergolas that filter the sun and outdoor decks.

We made beams and doors for the former convent of San Pablo in Oaxaca, tzalam beams for Estudio Iturbide and a Japanese-inspired charred-wood structure at Casa La Loma.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Timber structures

Which wood is best for beams?

For beams we use hard, durable woods such as sapodilla or tzalam. Species and section depend on load, span and exposure.

Do you supply and install?

Yes. We build in our Huayápam workshop and supply and install on site with our own team, also outside Oaxaca.

Which wood do you recommend for floors?

For high-traffic floors we recommend hard species such as granadillo, katalox or oak.

How do you maintain a pergola or deck?

With an exterior finish checked at least once a year and renewed before the wood is left exposed. We maintain what we make.
