WHAT WE MAKE / WHAT WE MAKE MOST

A door is the first thing you touch.

Doors and windows are what we make most, and the door is the most demanding piece: it is used every day, carries its own weight and lives between two climates. That's why every door is resolved from the drawing, with the section, joinery and hardware its size and use require.

We make entrance and façade doors, interior and bathroom doors, and gates for homes, boutique hotels, restaurants and buildings, almost always from an architecture studio’s design.

DOOR TYPES

Five ways to open a space.

01

Hinged doors

One or two leaves on hinges. Suitable for entrances, interiors and room doors.

What it’s for
  • Front and façade doors
  • Interiors, bedrooms and bathrooms
  • Wide entrances with two leaves
Reference price
Interior from MXN 30,000; front or façade MXN 50,000 – 95,000.
Keep in mind
Needs the leaf’s swing space kept clear. It is the system that seals best, because it closes against its frame.
02

Pivot doors

Large-format leaves that turn on an axis, with floor and head pivots sized for their weight.

What it’s for
  • Large-format main entrances
  • Terraces and patios
  • Hotel rooms
Reference price
Quoted per leaf; large-format leaves tend to sit at the top of the front door range (MXN 50,000 – 95,000).
Keep in mind
It seals less than a hinged door because it turns freely on its axis. On façades very exposed to rain, an overhang helps.
03

Sliding doors

Leaves that slide on a track or into a pocket, opening without taking up the passage.

What it’s for
  • Bathrooms, closets and hallways with no room to swing
  • Large openings onto a terrace
  • Dividers between spaces
Reference price
Bathroom or closet doors from MXN 30,000; large-format ones usually cost more than a front door.
Keep in mind
A surface-mounted door can be installed in a finished building; a pocket door hides in the wall and must be planned before it is built.
04

Folding doors

Several articulated leaves that stack to one side and open an entire bay.

What it’s for
  • Joining the interior with a terrace or garden
  • Restaurants that open their front
  • Rooms that divide or merge
Reference price
Quoted by number of leaves, opening size and hardware.
Keep in mind
It frees almost the whole opening, in exchange for more hardware and more adjustment than a sliding door.
05

Gates

Large-format leaves for vehicle or courtyard access, with structure and hardware sized for their weight.

What it’s for
  • Vehicle entrances and garages
  • Courtyards and service entrances
  • Entrances to homes and hotels
Reference price
Quoted by size, structure and hardware.
Keep in mind
Because of their weight, the internal structure, hinges and wall anchoring are designed together with the leaf.

Prices in Mexican pesos, before VAT, freight and installation.

HOW WE MAKE THEM

What you don't see is designed too.

A wood door lasts for decades when it is resolved properly from the start.

GLASS AND INSULATION

Glazed doors that insulate.

Front, terrace, sliding, folding and pivot doors can take single, double or triple glazing. With the leaf’s seals and a good fit, they protect the interior from cold, heat, noise and humidity.

  1. 01

    Double or triple glazing

Two or three panes with a cavity between them that slows the passage of heat and cold.

  2. 02

    Less noise

Every pane and every cavity dampens street noise; solid wood absorbs it too.

  3. 03

    No condensation

The inner pane stays warmer, so it fogs less and moisture doesn’t run down the wood.

  4. 04

    Seals and weatherstripping

Seals around the whole leaf so air, water and dust stay out when the door is closed.

  5. 05

    Safety glass

Laminated or tempered glass for entrance doors, terrace doors and passageways.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Solid wood doors

How much does a solid wood door cost?

As a reference, an interior door starts at MXN 30,000 and an entrance or façade door ranges from MXN 50,000 to 95,000, before VAT and freight. The final price depends on size, wood, opening system and hardware.

Which wood is best for an exterior door?

For exposed doors we usually use tzalam or macuil for their stability and durability. On the coast we also take care of the section, drip edges, finish and salt-resistant hardware.

Do you make large pivot doors?

Yes. We design the leaf, section and floor and head pivots for the weight and size of the door, and install it with our own team.

Can wood doors have double glazing?

Yes. Front, terrace, sliding, folding and pivot doors can take double or triple glazing, and laminated or tempered glass where safety matters. With perimeter seals they insulate from cold, heat, noise and humidity.

How long does a door take?

A single piece takes 3 to 8 weeks to make. A project with several doors and windows for a house, 2 to 5 months.
