ABOUT SAPODILLA (ZAPOTE)

Sapodilla, or zapote, is the tree that chicle is tapped from. Its wood is extraordinarily hard and durable: the Maya used it for temple lintels that are still standing after more than a thousand years.

Today we use it mainly for beams and structure, where its strength and durability make the difference.

For structural pieces, we define dimensions, joinery and finish around each project’s conditions and in coordination with its design and construction team.

IN THE WORKSHOP
