ABOUT TZALAM
Tzalam is a tropical hardwood from southeastern Mexico, reddish brown with a pronounced grain. It has become a reference in contemporary architecture across the Yucatán Peninsula and Oaxaca.
We choose it for doors and windows because it combines stability and hardness: a well-designed, well-joined tzalam door or window with the right finish performs as well in the city as on the coast. We also use it for bars, beams, closets, tables and chairs.
It can be sanded and refinished many times. Over time and with light, its tone settles and gains depth.
