WOOD DOORS / GATES

The first piece you see.

A gate is the most exposed piece of joinery in a house or hotel: it stands outdoors, opens every day and is the first thing you see from the street. That is why its design starts with the structure, a frame that keeps the leaves square so they don’t sag over the years.

We make it in solid wood, with one or two leaves, boarded or paneled, from the architect’s design, and install it with our own team.

WHEN IT FITS

From the driveway to the courtyard.

  1. 01

    Driveways

Two large-format leaves that open the full passage to a garage or parking area.

  2. 02

    Courtyards and service entrances

Single-leaf gates for courtyards, gardens and service entrances.

  3. 03

    With a pedestrian door

A door built into one of the leaves, so you don’t have to open the whole gate.

  4. 04

    Boarded or paneled

Vertical or horizontal boards, or framed panels, to suit the façade.

  5. 05

    With a screen

An open section that lets air and views through with the gate closed.

HOW WE MAKE THEM

Weight is solved in the frame.

A gate lasts for decades when its structure and hardware are designed together.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Wood gates

How much does a wood gate cost?

It is quoted by size, number of leaves, wood and hardware. Send us the opening size, the location and the date and we’ll give you a ballpark before a detailed quote.

Which wood is best for a gate?

For outdoor pieces we usually use tzalam or macuil for their stability and durability. On the coast we also take care of the finish and of salt-resistant hardware.

What maintenance does a wood gate need?

Like any exterior piece, its finish needs renewing from time to time, depending on the sun and rain it gets. We maintain the pieces we make.

Do you install gates outside Oaxaca?

Yes. We have installed joinery in Oaxaca city, on the coast, in Mexico City and in Valle de Bravo. Freight and travel are quoted separately.

YOUR DOOR

Do you have the opening size?

Send us the drawing or the opening size, how many leaves you have in mind, the site location and the date. We’ll give you a ballpark before a detailed quote.
