WOOD DOORS / SLIDING DOORS
When there is no room to swing.
A sliding door takes no space to open: the leaf slides along the wall or into it. That is why it works in bathrooms, closets and hallways, and also in large openings to a terrace, where several sliding leaves can open up much of the space.
Large-format sliding doors are among the biggest pieces our workshop makes: heavy leaves that have to glide smoothly for years. That is why the track, rollers and wood section are chosen along with the design.
TYPES
From the bathroom to the terrace.
- 01
Surface-mounted
The leaf runs outside the wall, with the track exposed or covered.
- 02
Pocket
The leaf disappears into the wall; it is coordinated with construction from the start.
- 03
Multi-leaf
Leaves that stack when open, freeing wide openings to terraces and gardens.
- 04
Bi-parting
Two leaves that open from the center toward the sides on the same track.
- 05
Bathroom and closet
Compact sliding doors where a swinging door would be in the way.
HOW WE MAKE THEM
The hardware is half the door.
A good sliding door moves with little effort and never sags.
- Track and rollers sized for the weight of each leaf.
- Stable wood and sections that keep the leaf straight, even in large formats.
- For pocket doors, the wall cavity is resolved with the architect before building.
- Floor guides, stops and recessed pulls so the leaf runs without knocking.
- Installation and adjustment by our own team.
- If glazed, double or triple and safety glass, with perimeter seals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wood sliding doors
How much does a solid wood sliding door cost?
It depends a lot on size. A bathroom or closet sliding door costs about the same as an interior door, from MXN 30,000; a large-format sliding door to a terrace usually costs more than a front door, which runs MXN 50,000 to 95,000. Figures before VAT and freight.
Surface-mounted or pocket?
A surface-mounted door can be installed in a finished building and leaves the track exposed or covered. A pocket door disappears into the wall, but has to be planned before the wall is built. We decide with your architect.
Does a wood sliding door work outdoors?
Yes, with stable wood, a suitable track, drips and an exterior finish. On exposed façades a lift-and-slide system usually works better, because it seals more tightly.
What is the difference between sliding and folding?
A sliding door glides its leaves and frees only the part of the opening they don’t cover. A folding door folds its leaves to one side and frees almost the whole opening, at the cost of more hardware and adjustment.
