WINDOWS AND SCREENS / SASH WINDOWS
A window that stays out of the way.
In a sash window the leaves run vertically in guides in the frame: the lower one slides up in front of the upper one, or both move. Since it doesn’t swing, it never hits curtains, furniture or people walking by outside.
It is a long-standing system that calls for precision: the leaves are balanced so they lift with little effort and stay at the height you leave them, and side seals keep the air out.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wood sash windows
How much does a wood sash window cost?
As a reference, a solid wood window runs MXN 28,000 to 95,000 before VAT and freight. The price depends on size, hardware and glass.
How does a sash window stay open?
The leaves are balanced with hardware that offsets their weight, so they stay at the height you leave them. They also have locks to hold them.
Does a sash window seal well?
It seals less than a casement or tilt-and-turn window, because its leaves slide. We seal it with side seals and seals where the leaves meet.
Can it have double glazing?
Yes. The leaves are designed with the section needed for double or triple glazing.
