SHUTTERS
Wood leaves to control the light.
Louvered shutters, solid shutters and insect screens in solid wood that go with windows and doors, to shade and ventilate without opening the house completely.
CASA COCO · ZIPOLITE
WINDOWS AND SCREENS / SHUTTERS
Shade and air, the coastal way.
Louvered shutters with angled slats let air through while holding back sun and rain. Solid shutters close completely and darken the room. They are mounted outside or inside the window and belong to the traditional architecture of warm climates.
At Casa Coco in Zipolite, we made doors, shutters and casement windows with Permacasco for the humidity, salt and sun of the coast. For Expendio Tradición in Oaxaca, designed by Ezequiel Farca, we made interiors, furniture, doors, shutters and windows.

- Slats with the angle and spacing the site’s sun and rain call for.
- Stable frames that do not warp with humidity.
- Corrosion-resistant hinges, bolts and stays on the coast.
- The same wood and finish as the window or door.
- Installation by our own team and maintenance of the pieces we make.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wood shutters
What is the difference between louvered and solid shutters?
Louvered shutters have angled slats that let air through while holding back sun and rain. Solid shutters are blind leaves that close completely and darken the room. Both can be combined on the same window.
How much do they cost?
They are quoted per piece by size and system, almost always with the window or door. As a reference, a solid wood window runs MXN 28,000 to 95,000 before VAT and freight; a shutter on its own usually costs less than the window it goes with.
Do they work at the beach?
Yes, that is where they are used most. At Casa Coco in Zipolite, we made wood shutters for the humidity, salt and sun. On the coast we use stable wood, corrosion-resistant hardware and a finish that is renewed more often.
Do you make wood insect screens?
Yes. We make wood-framed insect screens, hinged or sliding, built into the window or door frame.
YOUR WINDOWS
How many windows do you want to protect?
Send us the window drawings or a list of openings with sizes, the site location and the date. We’ll give you a ballpark before a detailed quote.
