WINDOWS AND SCREENS / EUROPEAN STYLE
Two ways to open, one handle.
A tilt-and-turn window opens in two ways. With the handle in one position, the leaf swings sideways like a casement, to air the room fully or clean the glass; in another, it tilts in a few centimeters from the top and lets air in with the window almost closed.
It is the most common window in Europe because it insulates so well: its hardware locks at several points around the leaf and presses it against the frame seals. In solid wood with double or triple glazing, it insulates from cold, heat and street noise.

HOW WE MAKE THEM
The hardware is designed with the leaf.
A tilt-and-turn window seals well when wood, hardware and glass are resolved together.
- Multi-point perimeter tilt-and-turn hardware, chosen for the weight and size of the leaf.
- Solid wood profiles with seals along the whole contact with the frame.
- Double or triple glazing, and laminated or tempered glass where safety matters.
- Drip edges and an exterior finish so water runs off and doesn’t sit on the wood.
- Installation and hardware adjustment by our own team.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Wood tilt-and-turn windows
What is a tilt-and-turn window?
It is a window that opens in two ways with the same handle: sideways like a casement, or tilted in from the top to ventilate. It is the most common window system in Europe.
How much does a wood tilt-and-turn window cost?
As a reference, a solid wood window runs MXN 28,000 to 95,000 before VAT and freight. The price depends on size, hardware and the type of glass.
Can it have triple glazing?
Yes. The leaf section is designed for its glass: single, double or triple. Triple glazing suits façades very exposed to noise or cold.
Which way does a tilt-and-turn window open?
Inward, both when it swings and when it tilts. That is why it needs clear space in front of the window, just like a casement.
